Sell Now, Move in Time for Christmas

We often get asked when the best time to sell your home is and as many people usually avoid the summer months due to schools being closed and it being holiday season, autumn can become a key time, especially if you want to be in a new home by Christmas.

2021 has been a little different with the summer being extremely busy due to limited holidays abroad but mainly due to the Stamp Duty Exemption and this will finish on homes up to £250,000 on the 30th September. However, as predicted, the market is still moving and all the reasons that current buyers wish to move home continue to be there – gardens are still being sought after and a second study or a home office space are still required with many carrying on flexible working. So, do you fancy a new home in time for the festive season?

Getting your home sales ready will help win over potential buyers so it’s important to make sure your home provides a good first impression. The kerb appeal of your home, especially as the seasons change and trees and plants shed leaves and flowers is important, so make sure gardens and driveways look tidy and attractive. Making a house look like a home is just as important but remember, your knickknacks might not be for everybody, so keep rooms clutter free so potential buyers can picture themselves in your home.

Another way to make people feel at home is heightening the senses, so don’t forget the small details which make a big difference, so for example fresh flowers in autumnal colours are perfect for this time of year, as the days get colder make sure your home is warm with the fire lit or central heating on and don’t forget the appeal of fresh coffee and freshly baked bread!
